Love is in the Air Voxbox

If you aren’t familiar with Influenster already, they are an awesome and honest review site that sends out Voxboxes for members to try out in exchange for an honest review.

I was lucky enough to get one of their Love is in the Air Voxboxes filled with some awesome products from goop and Glow Recipe so I thought I would share with you guys what I thought of it.

goop G.Tox Himalayan Salt Scalp Scrub Shampoo

I kind of have a love/hate relationship with clarifying shampoos. I love how they make my hair look lighter and cleaner (I have dark blonde hair so any oil changes the color a bit), but I hate how they also tend to dry out my hair. I’ve tried a lot and the best results I had were with Live Clean’s Apple Cider Clarifying Shampoo - it didn’t totally dry out my hair, but it left my scalp feeling super clean.

The goop G.Tox Himalayan Salt Scalp Scrub shampoo had kind of a mouse consistency with the Himalayan salt swirled through. I was pretty hesitant to believe it would cleanse my scalp too well with such a thick consistency. Nonetheless, I gave it a fair try.

I waited to try this out until my hair was in need of a clarifying shampoo. It also suggests on the label to use it with a conditioner, but I chose to try it without one so that my results would have nothing to do with any other product I was using.

Like any shampoo, you wait until your hair is completely wet and then you evenly rub in the mousse-like scalp scrub. The salt actually has to melt on your hair/scalp and that alone was an incredible spa-like experience. It almost smelled a bit like a nice incense and made my scalp feel so relaxed.

After letting my hair air-dry I brushed it out and my hair was softer and smoother than ever. I almost wouldn’t have thought it was effective, except for the fact that my hair looked noticeably lighter as well. I’m still stunned by how well-conditioned my hair seemed after a clarifying rinse.

This is most definitely going to be my new go-to clarifying shampoo. I highly recommend it if you’re like me and sometimes need a clarifying shampoo, but don’t have naturally oily hair.

Glow Recipe Watermelon Glow Pink Dream Body Cream

I’m a huge fan of Glow Recipe’s Watermelon glow PHA + BHA Pore Tight toner and I had pretty high hopes that this body cream would be excellent.

From an aesthetic standpoint, this is a perfect product. The lotion is the exact same color as the lovely rose pink bottle - that I must add is an excellent display piece as well.

It also smells incredible, just like freshly cut watermelon.

The lotion itself is not a stand-out product like their toner though. There’s nothing wrong with it, but it’s honestly no better than any other lotion outside of the amazing summery scent.

I may or may not buy this again just for the summery scent. This does totally make me want Glow Recipe to come out with a Watermelon Glow perfume.
